Our Story
Corban & Blair is a female-owned design business specialising in creating and manufacturing products for corporate gifting and retail. We are dedicated to designing products that reflect our values and collaborating with those who share our beliefs. As a proud Certified B Corporation®, we are committed to operating a business that prioritises economic and environmental sustainability.
Founded in 1988
In 1988, Gillian Corban and Amanda Blair founded a niche Australian designer stationery business, initially offering handmade journals and albums. Adapting to the evolving market, we began creating new product styles using a variety of materials manufactured in Australia, New Zealand, and China.
At Corban & Blair, we actively support various causes, including the arts, schools, women, homelessness, and education. We also provide mentorship and coaching within the business and arts community. We prioritise manufacturing in Australia whenever possible.
Fundamental to our success and close to our hearts is the pursuit of showcasing the richness and beauty of Australian culture through collaborations, with a focus on creating sustainable products.

B Corp
Corban & Blair are a Certified B Corporation. We’re proud to be part of this community. To become a certified B Corporation® you are independently assessed by non-profit organisation B-Lab to meet the highest standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
Corban & Blair are committed to exceptional design and manufacturing in Australia and collaborating with Indigenous artists, artisans and poets. Our focus is to create products that are sustainable, personal and meaningful using recycled and upcycled material. Becoming a B Corp was a natural next step in demonstrating our commitment to using business as a force of good.
Indigenous Art Code
Corban & Blair is a Member & Signatory of the Indigenous Art Code. This means we are committed to fair and ethical trade with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander artists, and transparency in the promotion and sale of artwork. As a Dealer Member and signatory to the Code we must act fairly, honestly, professionally and in good conscience in all direct or indirect dealings with artists.
Carbon Neutral Frames
Corban & Blair have been manufacturing frames for decades with our partner manufacturer in New Zealand. All frames are handmade from plantation-grown timber. We buy carbon credits to offset emissions produced in the manufacturing of these frames and the money raised goes towards land regeneration.
Maximising Material Use, Minimizing Waste
We make every effort to utilise all parts of the leather in our manufacturing process. We repurpose small leather scraps into keyrings, coasters, and bookmarks from leftover pieces. Any remaining unusable scraps are sent to UPPAREL for recycling. UPPAREL is an organisation that recovers and recycles textile waste to create UPtex, a versatile material used for packaging, signage, homewares, and more.
Our primary goal is to reduce consumption and keep waste out of landfills. Our products are designed to be durable and timeless, ensuring they remain in use for years. We carefully select materials that are not only fit for purpose but also proven to last, helping us create products that stand the test of time.
