Hi, I am Mark Yates.
I oversee all aspects of the business, from product development and supply chain to brand strategy, marketing, and ecommerce. Focused on sustainability and performance, I’ve built Kine to reduce plastic waste, support local industry, and deliver a clean, low-impact alternative to conventional wipes.
Kine manufactures premium, plastic-free, flushable body cloths, made from 100% plant-based fibres and proudly manufactured in Australia.
I have 20+ years Engineering and Management background, including leading high profile defence programs, such as the $300m F-35 Vertical Tail Program at BAE Systems, and Land 19 Phase 7B at Raytheon. I was also a founding Director of SILK Laser Clinics, a company that grew to complete a successful IPO on the ASX.
My experience is underpinned by a strong foundation in education, notably a Masters of Business Administration and attainment of AIPM Certified Practicing Project Director qualification, and also achieving Chartered Professional Engineer status with Engineers Australia.

From day one, we’ve made it our mission to raise the bar for sustainability in personal care. That means:
- Manufacturing in Australia to help reduce carbon emissions by over 50% compared to overseas production
- Prioritising compostable materials and renewable fibres
- Our Flushable cloths (Body and Baby) meet the highest safety standards for flushability (AS/NZS 5328)
