Backyard BBQ was originally developed for our Maple Leaf Meats food truck, where sauces need to deliver consistently through real service.

Its balanced flavour profile gives commercial kitchens the flexibility to use one BBQ sauce across multiple dishes without overwhelming the food, helping operators add distinctive flavour while keeping service practical.

Born in Foodservice

Before Johnny Retro was on a retail shelf, our sauces were being served to customers from our Melbourne food truck.

We started making our own because we wanted sauces with the flavour, quality and consistency we needed for our own menu.

Those recipes became the foundation of Johnny Retro and continue to shape the foodservice sauces we manufacture today.
