Maple BBQ was originally developed for our own Melbourne food truck, where flavour, consistency and versatility matter through every service.

Its savoury, peppery character makes it an easy fit across beef, burgers, ribs, pork and grilled meats while giving operators a distinctive alternative to conventional sweet BBQ sauces.

From Our Food Truck to Yours

Before Johnny Retro was on a retail shelf, our sauces were being served to customers from our Maple Leaf Meats food truck in Melbourne.

We started making our own because we wanted sauces with better flavour, quality and character than the generic options available to us.

Those recipes became the foundation of Johnny Retro and continue to shape the foodservice range we manufacture today.
